Civil law and focused medical liability training.

Executive Programme “Responsabilità civile sanitaria”

Scuola Greco Pittella

A dedicated training programme.

Avv. Giuseppe Greco further developed his advanced professional training by completing the Master Executive in Medical and Healthcare Civil Liability, organised and delivered by the prestigious Scuola Greco Pittella, a recognised institution in specialist legal training. The programme provided an important opportunity to explore the most complex issues of interpretation and application in healthcare liability, including direct exchanges with distinguished members of the medical and legal professions: physicians and surgeons, forensic medicine specialists, judges and presidents of several divisions of the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation. This valuable experience helped consolidate and refine Avv. Greco’s professional expertise in a field of increasing complexity and significance.

Medical liability matters.

This training supports the firm’s work on medical liability and compensation matters, from legal assessment to assistance before and during civil proceedings.

Particular attention is paid to current issues in Italian law, including compensation for loss of chance: the loss of a serious, concrete and appreciable opportunity for recovery, longer survival or a more favourable clinical outcome. Such claims require careful assessment of the evidence and of the causal link between the healthcare provider’s conduct and the lost opportunity, in light of the relevant case law.

Another important development is the introduction of the Italian National Compensation Table (Tabella Unica Nazionale, T.U.N.), adopted by Presidential Decree No. 12 of 13 January 2025 for assessing non-pecuniary damages arising from substantial personal injury, including in healthcare liability cases. Assessment takes account of its scope, including its temporal application, valuation criteria and individual adjustments where permitted, with close attention to the circumstances of each case.
